What are “NO WiFi Games”?
I researched a lot about this term but unfortunately, couldn’t find anything on the web (at the time of writing), even the Wikipedia doesn’t have any reference for the term “No WiFi Games.”
So we at TechReviewPro define “No WiFi games” as the games that do not require WiFi connection to play. These are the games that you can play without a WiFi connection. You may also call “No WiFi games” as “Offline games” for which you don’t need to be online to play games. Thus, to play any “No WiFi games” data connection is not required.
Why Do You Need Free Games that Don’t Need WiFi?
In the past few years, the gaming industry has seen quick growth in multiplayer online games as a multiplayer game is more fun and competitive, at least when played online. The mood of gamers are shifting towards online games, so the developers are developing more online games considering this. But despite a trend for online games, why do you need an offline game to play?
Playing games on your smartphone is a great way to kill time when you are away from the workplace, going on a long trip, traveling on a bus, or simply say, want to overcome boredom. But you can’t find a WiFi connection everywhere. And since your most favorite games require the WiFi connection to play, you need some free games that you can play without WiFi as well.
Even if you have a high-speed mobile data connection, you need offline games to play, so that you might not end up spending all your mobile data and paying some “hidden charges” to your data subscriber.

Why do Games Require WiFi Connection?
Now you might be wondering, why do games need WiFi connection? The developers create some games in such a way that you can only play them when connected over a WiFi connection. When a game is online, you can access it from anywhere, no matter what console, what device or what screen you are trying to play it on.
The online connectivity through WiFi or mobile data connection makes it easy to play and compete with your online friends globally. Also, some games have in-app upgrades or levels that you can only get when connected online. This is because the game requires mobile data or WiFi connection to download an additional package. That is why many games require a WiFi connection.
Why do Most of the Developers Develop Online Games?
With the gaming industry undergoing a massive change, developers have analyzed the mood of gamers. Due to the shifting trends towards online gaming and online gameplay becoming immense popular recently, the developers have started creating online games more often.
Even the most popular offline games are developing their online versions for increasing the gamers’ base. Well, that’s quite obvious!
If you are still asking, why do most of the developers are creating online games? And why an entirely free offline game to play without WiFi is hard to find? Then you are a “Pro Reader” and have perhaps got a great brain because there are hidden “less talked” reasons for this as well.
When a game goes offline, its destruction starts. After downloading a game offline, one can easily create pirated CDs to distribute a game locally and make “illegal bucks,” considering if it’s a premium game. Also, the person who downloads the game offline can insert some malicious codes into the source code of the game and re-upload online on some random website to hack into users’ devices and steal sensitive information when you download.
So I recommend you to download offline games only from Google Play Store, Apple App Store, or the official website of the app. Avoid any third-party source for downloading games offline. Only proceed to download games offline if you are sure of the source of downloading being secure.
Last but not the least, the developers develop games for a living, and they can’t keep working hard without any earning. Since most of the game developers earn some bucks from online advertisements, it’s great only if they maintain the game online. Because offline games are not going to pay their bills. That’s the reason why most of the developers are developing more online games as compared to offline games.

Games with WiFi Vs Games without WiFi
When it comes to gamers preference, both online games, as well as offline games have their own pros and cons. Some gamers like to play games online in the web browser, while others like to download and take it offline before playing. Though choices may differ, this is not to create a debate on which is best – online games or offline games.
It is worth noting that I’m not talking about web-based online games. All the discussions going on are app-specific. That is why I have termed it, “Games with WiFi” vs. “Games without WiFi” rather than “Online Games” vs. “Offline Games.
Games with WiFi – Pros and Cons:
- You need a WiFi connection to play such games as some portions or packages that are necessary for gameplay are downloaded when connected to the internet.
- Regarding accessibility, games with WiFi are not easier and convenient as you can’t get access to WiFi connection everywhere.
- A data connection is required as you need to connect to the internet, either to sync or to download some part of the games every time you want to play it.
- Playing games with WiFi is a lot more fun with a broad range of global competition (multiplayer mode).
Games without WiFi – Pros and Cons:
- You don’t need to download any additional package each time you launch the game before playing. Often, this saves mobile data when you are on a metered connection.
- Games without WiFi are readily available and convenient to play wherever you go as you don’t need to connect to the internet whenever you want to play without WiFi.
- When you are playing a game without WiFi, it doesn’t load annoying ads. Thus, providing better user experience.
- Playing games without WiFi is good for the single-player mode, but for multiplayer gaming mode, it doesn’t provide such a great user experience as games with WiFi.

The Pro Review from TechReviewPro
Playing games when not connected to WiFi can be tricky as many free games are data-hungry and require internet connection preferably a WiFi connection to download the required package for the next levels. But there are some of the best free games that you can play without WiFi. Though when playing offline, you are restricted to playing single-player mode and can’t play the multiplayer mode. But that is justified, at least they are not eating your mobile data.
So you have got it! Now it all depends on your choice what kind of genre you like to play. If you love racing, you’ll go for Asphalt 8: Airborne. If you like puzzle-solving, Dots & Co is the offline game for you. However, the fighting lover will go for Shadow Fight 2. If you love tower defense games to play offline, Plant Vs Zombies 2 is for you. However, for endless running, Temple Run 2 or Subway Surfer is the game to go. And the counting continues with your preferred genre.
If you are one who travels a lot or lives on a metered data connection, playing free games without WiFi is what you’ll love. Hopefully, these “No WiFi games” will help you play games without WiFi. Let me know which is your favorite offline game?
